About LAB director

Prof. Dr. Saman Shahid teaches Physics and Environmental Sciences/Sustainability courses. She had developed AI-based Neural Networks for the state-space models of the Fusion Reactor during her M.Phil. research. Her doctoral research was related to Radiation Physics & Bioinformatics.

Her doctoral research work was related to brain cancer genetics and the discovery of mutations induced.

Recently, she designed and successfully taught a novel course “Environmental Data Science” as an elective to the final year students of BS (Computer Science).

She has published 107 research articles in national & international journals. She has also published 40 abstracts at different national and international conferences. Her current impact factor is 132. She is also a peer reviewer and editorial board member of some local and international journals. Her areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medicine & Environment, Medical/Health Physics, Medical Radiation Physics, Environmental Health, and Bioinformatics.

The following objectives were met as the course (Environmental Data Science) learning objectives:

  1. Environmental data types
